A demonstrative learning activity was conducted for Grade 7 to explain the chapter “From Barter to Money.” Students observed and compared cowrie shells, metal coins, paper currency, and plastic money (debit and credit cards) to understand the evolution of the monetary system. The activity enabled students to identify different forms of money used across different periods and appreciate how advancements in trade and technology have transformed the way people exchange goods and services. It promoted active participation and made the concept easy to understand.
A role-play activity was conducted in Grade 7 during the History lesson “The Rise of Empires” to demonstrate the concepts of an Emperor, Empire, and the Features of an Empire. One student acted as the emperor while others played the roles of ministers, soldiers, officials, and subjects. Through this activity, students understood how an emperor ruled a large territory with the support of an organized administration and army. The activity made the lesson lively, encouraged participation, and helped students clearly understand the important features of an empire.
Description: Students participated in the “A Story of Numbers” activity by demonstrating how ancient people counted using body parts such as fingers, hands, and the neck.
